A very local, very colourful hero is about to roll through our town – and he’s inviting Tauranga’s kids (and the grown-ups) to jump on board.
Koro Fridge’s Tiki Tour is a brand-new Tauranga children’s book and colouring adventure, written by best-selling author and columnist Tommy ‘Kapai’ Wilson. The project was dreamed up to share our local stories and showcase our local heroes – especially the ones we race past every day without really seeing.
Koro Fridge, known off the page as Chris McAlpine, has been a teacher, bus driver and tour organiserin Tauranga for much of his life. His legendary tiki tours around our town are hugely popular with locals, tourists and kids alike.
The book is designed as an easy-to-fold creative workbook, printed in Aotearoa on nice thick paper. Its 74 pages are perfect for keeping the kids happily colouring away on Christmas Eve while you enjoy a quiet cuppa – or even better, grab a pen yourself and sit down with your kids or grandkids and colour the same page together!
